Former US Congress member Cynthia McKinney will be in Red Hook to campaign for the Green Party nomination for president and to present a free screening of the film American Blackout. McKinney is featured in this powerful film, which chronicles the electoral fraud in 2000 and 2004 where black voters were pulled off of the enrollment lists and denied equitable access to voting machines.

The Green Party filed a recount of the presidential vote in Ohio in 2004. But we cannot recount votes that were prevented from being cast. During this same window of time, both the Democrats and Republicans worked together in Georgia, to push out six-time Congress member McKinney because she's spoke out with courage against the war in Iraq; consistently opposed funding for the bloated military budget; introduced Articles of Impeachment for George Bush, Dick Cheney, & Condoleezza Rice; and so much more.
